Vacationing in the Pacific Northwest: Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, August 3rd-11th, 2012
I’ve always wanted to visit this part of the country. When next year’s vacation policy at work changed so that we can’t carry over as many hours, meaning…I’d better use up some time, and started planning this trip which included some great music, see BBJ and Pickathon.
I flew from IAH to Portland, took the light rail to Clackamas, and rented a car. Bus to Seattle. Bus to Vancouver. Took the Amtrak Cascades train from Vancouver back to Seattle, then flew home.
Stayed at Courtyard Portland Clackamas and somewhere else downtown (can’t remember where), The Roosevelt (Seattle), Blue Horizon Hotel (Vancouver)
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you might have to vacation alone, and you start to hesitate – DON’T – just do it.
